The Competiton and Markets Authority in the United Kingdom said yesterday that they have begun an assessment to verify if online platforms are causing harm to the U.K’s digital ad market.

The CMA expressed specific concerns that users do not have sufficient control over the usage and monetization of their data on online platforms, also will confirm if the dominance of Google and Facebook is deterring others from entering into the market.

This investigation builds on a United Kingdom Government Review that the 4 big technology companies should now be subject to new antitrust rules.

The findings will be published latest by July 2, 2020.
